School Hours

Regular Day: 8:45 am – 3:20 pm
Early Dismissal/Staff Development: 8:45 am – 12:25 pm
Two-Hour Delay: 10:45 am – 3:20 pm
 
Arrival and Dismissal
  • Student drop off begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 8:45 a.m. 
      • When dropping off your child, please enter at the bottom parking lot and proceed through the parking lot to the back of the school.

        Please pull your car up to the cafeteria window area  and have your child exit through the rear driver’s side.
      •  
        Please DO NOT drop off any students until you have contact with the receiving staff. We also ask that if you arrive before 8:30, please remain in your vehicle.

  • If you arrive after 8:45 a.m. please park your car in the lower parking lot and escort your child to the front of the building. Please ring the buzzer so that you may enter the building where we ask that you sign them in on the tardy log. 

  • Please notify the office and your child’s teacher of any change of plans with your child’s pick up routine. Email is the preferred method [email protected] and except for emergencies, please confirm contact by 2:00. By 3:00 the office tends to become a bit chaotic and we want to be sure every child gets home safely.
     
  • Picking up in the afternoon by car is slightly more complicated. Until we are familiar with you, please make a large sign with your child’s name in big dark letters and prepare to show ID. School personnel will call your waiting child and deliver them to you in your car.
      • Any K and 1 students and their siblings are picked up in the back of the school by the cafeteria. 
      • If you are picking up a student in 2-5th grade (who does not have a K or 1 sibling), please pull into the lower parking lot, but turn left into the second blacktop opening for the basketball hoops. Proceed through that parking lot, back out of the courts and around to the small traffic circle. 

  • Students who walk home: With parent permission, students who live in the neighborhood adjacent to Murphy may walk home. They will be crossed by a crossing guard either at the upper parking lot at Chesterfield and Chapel area or Chesterfield at the lower parking lot entrance. Unless otherwise arranged students are to be met by an adult once crossed.
